The best Mealime alternatives in 2026, compared

If you want an app to choose your dinners, try Meals Hub (free, Mealime’s official successor) or eMeals (paid, curated weekly plans). If you want to plan with your own recipes, look at Plan to Eat or Paprika. For a free all-rounder, Samsung Food; for a shared grocery list, AnyList. Whatever you pick, save the recipes you added to Mealime yourself before October 21.

Who wrote this

RecipesFinder is published by the team that makes FoodKeep, which appears in this comparison. We list it where it fits, say what it does not do, and did not rank it first. We checked every other app’s official website or App Store listing on October 2, 2026, but we have not used each one day to day. Prices change, so confirm before you subscribe.

First, decide what you used Mealime for

Mealime did two jobs. It chose recipes for you (a weekly plan matched to your diet and allergies) and it turned that plan into a grocery list. Most alternatives are good at one of those jobs, not both, so start with the one you would miss most:

  • “Tell me what to cook.” You want plans made for you. Look at Meals Hub, eMeals or Eat This Much.
  • “Help me plan my own recipes.” You already collect recipes and want a calendar and a list. Look at Plan to Eat, Paprika, Samsung Food or Recipe Keeper.
  • “I just need my recipes and a list.” Look at AnyList for shopping, or a recipe keeper such as FoodKeep, ReciMe or Mela.

Mealime’s closing announcement says personal data is deleted on October 21, and neither it nor Mealime’s help center offers an export. Its own recipes continue in Meals Hub; recipes you added yourself do not.

If you want plans made for you

Meals Hub: the official successor

Meals Hub is Albertsons Companies’ meal-planning section, run by the same core team that built Mealime, and it carries every Mealime recipe. It is free and works even if you can’t shop at an Albertsons-family store, but you need an account with one of their store apps (Safeway, Albertsons, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME and others). Nothing personal moves over. Read our Meals Hub vs Mealime guide for the details.

eMeals: curated plans, paid

eMeals is the closest paid match to Mealime’s “here is your week” experience: a new plan every week, with 15 plan types to choose from, with grocery lists you can send to Walmart, Instacart, Kroger or Safeway. Dinner plans cost $29.99 for three months or $59.99 a year (eMeals).

Eat This Much: plans built around numbers

If you used Mealime’s Pro nutrition and calorie filters, Eat This Much generates meal plans to calorie and macro targets. One-day plans are free; Premium is $5 a month billed yearly (Eat This Much pricing).

If you want to plan with your own recipes

Plan to Eat

Plan to Eat is built around a planning calendar for recipes you collect yourself. It imports from websites, and since September 2026 from Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. It costs $5.95 a month or $49 a year on its website ($54.99 a year in the app), with a 14-day trial that doesn’t ask for a card. Plan to Eat says its web clipper imports Mealime recipes including the spice amounts, and it offers Mealime users 30% off (Plan to Eat, September 2026 update).

Paprika 3

Paprika is the long-standing pay-once option: $4.99 on iPhone, with separate purchases for Mac, Windows and Android. It has a built-in browser for saving recipes from websites, a meal planner, a pantry and a grocery list (Paprika).

Samsung Food

Samsung Food, formerly Whisk, is free for saving recipes, planning and shopping lists. Food+ ($6.99 a month or $59.99 a year) adds personalized 7-day plans and more photo scans (Food+). Its iPhone app was last updated in May 2026.

Recipe Keeper

Recipe Keeper runs on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, imports from websites and reads recipe text from photos. Pro is a one-time $19.99 on iPhone (Recipe Keeper).

If you mostly need your recipes and a list

AnyList

If the grocery list was your favorite part of Mealime, AnyList is built around shopping lists you can share with your household. The list is free; recipe import and the meal-planning calendar need Complete, at $9.99 a year or $14.99 for a household (AnyList Complete).

FoodKeep (ours)

FoodKeep saves recipes from websites, Instagram and TikTok, reads handwritten cards, screenshots and PDFs, and turns any recipe into a grocery list grouped by aisle. It is honest to say what it lacks for a Mealime user: there is no meal planner, no nutrition information and no Android app. It does import mealime.com recipe pages; in our October 2 test, every ingredient and step came through, but Mealime’s page data leaves out amounts for most seasonings, so you add those by hand. How to move Mealime recipes into FoodKeep.

ReciMe and Mela

ReciMe focuses on saving recipes from social video; its free plan allows five imports a week (ReciMe). Mela is a polished iPhone and Mac recipe keeper with a one-time Mela+ upgrade ($6.99 on iPhone), though it has not been updated since June 2025 (Mela).

Before you switch: one thing no app can do for you

Mealime’s own recipes live on in Meals Hub. The recipes you imported or typed into Mealime’s Your Recipes section don’t: they exist only in your account and are deleted on October 21. Whichever app you choose, save those first. Import them from the website they originally came from, screenshot them, or print them from Mealime’s web app at app.mealime.com (Mealime’s help center says printing works only there).

Then rebuild one ordinary week in your new app before the shutdown, while you can still compare it with Mealime. If you want a ready-made week to test with, try our five-dinner plan with one grocery list.

A few good questions

What is the official replacement for Mealime?

Meals Hub, a free meal-planning section inside the Albertsons Companies store apps and websites, such as Safeway, Albertsons, Vons and Jewel-Osco. It carries all of Mealime’s recipes. You need an Albertsons-family store account to use it.

What is the best free Mealime alternative?

Meals Hub if you want Mealime’s own recipes and plans made for you. Samsung Food if you want a free app for planning your own recipes. Meals Hub needs a grocery store account, and Samsung Food’s free plan limits photo scans.

Which app is most like Mealime?

For plans chosen for you, Meals Hub (free) and eMeals (paid) are closest. For planning your own recipes with a grocery list, Plan to Eat and Paprika are the usual picks.

Can I transfer my Mealime data to another app?

No. Mealime has no export and deletes personal data on October 21, 2026. You can import Mealime recipe pages from mealime.com into most recipe apps, but saved lists, meal plans, grocery lists and recipes you added yourself have to be saved by hand.

Is there a Mealime alternative for Android?

Yes. eMeals, Plan to Eat, Samsung Food, AnyList, Eat This Much, Recipe Keeper, ReciMe and Paprika all have Android apps. FoodKeep and Mela do not.
